Welcome to Suzanne's Farmhouse: Where Big Sur Inspiration Meets Handcrafted Garden Art

There’s something about Big Sur that stays with you.
I grew up on the Monterey Peninsula, and some of my favorite childhood memories are of summers spent camping with my family in Big Sur. The towering redwoods, rugged coastline, winding roads, and little hidden places tucked among the trees all became part of the way I see beauty.
I’ve always been drawn to things that feel a little rustic, a little whimsical, and as though they have a story to tell. I love the charm of the Monterey Peninsula and Carmel, the storybook cottages, old gardens, weathered metal, and pieces that look even better after they’ve spent some time outdoors.
Those memories and places have found their way into Suzanne’s Farmhouse.
My garden pieces are handcrafted from rusted metal, often paired with colorful ceramic beads and other details that give each piece its own personality. I love creating things that move gently in the breeze, peek out from among the flowers, or add an unexpected bit of character to a porch or garden.
I’m not interested in making things that look perfect or mass-produced. I like the little variations, the natural rust, and the way a piece changes as it spends time outside. To me, those are the things that give it character.
There’s also a bit of the 1960s and ’70s in many of my designs — peace symbols, flowers, whimsical animals, and other reminders of a time when handmade things were meant to be enjoyed rather than perfect.
Suzanne’s Farmhouse is my way of bringing all of those things together: memories of Big Sur, the charm of the Monterey Peninsula, a love of gardens, and the simple pleasure of making something by hand.
I hope when you add one of my pieces to your garden or porch, it brings a little of that feeling home with you — something warm, unexpected, and made to make you smile.
Thank you for visiting Suzanne’s Farmhouse and for supporting handmade.
